About the Art

The Basics

• The art is the original work of Mary Thrasher. Each picture is hand-painted in watercolor and matted in a hand-cut beveled mat. 
• Care should be taken in the placement of the art. Over time the watercolor could fade if placed in direct sunlight. Shades of blue are especially fragile.
• All art work can be purchased framed or unframed. Contemporary, straight forward metal frames (black or white), with an acrylic front (as opposed to glass) are lightweight and suitable for any decor. They are wired and ready to hang. Children's art are framed in this manner as well. Be sure, however, to hang the picture far above the child's sleeping area and little hands.  The art is in standard sizes if you want to purchase your own frame. Unframed art comes with a foam core backing and a clear polypropylene envelope. 
• The art can be directly sent to your gift recipient with an enclosure card. Provide the name and address of the recipient in the "Special Instructions" section of the "Secure Checkout" along with your message. If you are ordering more than one picture be sure to identify which picture goes with which address!
• Airline Art: Much of the art is based on American Airlines. However I am willing to do "special orders" for other airline groups (stewardess/flight attendant alumni) for fund raisers etc. 

Mat Color Choices

• Please note that scanning equipment, computer screens (yours and mine), etc. can alter the color of the mats for the computer. For example, all the white mats displayed are actually the same color, but appear differently. Purists can use the color code below for Crescent mat board. For children's pictures-French Blue (light blue) #972, Madagascar Pink #1078, Antique White #3293.  All others regardless of size are matted in Antique White.
• Mat colors that are available are identified for each picture in the "Online Ordering" section.

Personalized Art 

 "Just for Kids" 

• Choices: Hot Air Balloon #505, Ark #503 (all are 11 x 14)
• Personalization information: Name (first, middle, last),  date of birth (day, month year) weight information (pounds, ounces), length (inches). 
• Please use the "Special Instructions" box on the print order page in the "On Line Ordering" section for all personalized instructions. There is no charge for personalization.

 Note Cards

• The cards are my original copyrighted designs. Each card, unless otherwise noted is hand painted in watercolor. Each card is packaged in an individual propylene envelope. There is no minimum order, however please note the shipping charges below. 

Shipping and Taxes 

• I will make every effort to get your merchandise shipped in a timely manner. Personalized work takes a little longer. Shipping is by USPS/Priority unless otherwise requested.
• Domestic shipping charges: 20% of the total order with a minimum of $6.00. International shipping is not available at this time.
• Illinois residents are subject to Illinois sales tax of 10.25%.

Wholesale Orders (volume orders)

• Wholesale pricing is available for airline groups, fundraising, retail resale, etc.
